La Ràpita
An important fishing village of the Ebro delta, with a modern marina, another marina near the center and a jetty to moor on cruises up to 210 meters in length and 6 meters in depth. Located halfway between Barcelona and Valencia, in a very protected place in the southern lagoon of the delta, the Alfacs harbor, you will find many good anchor points.
HOW TO ARRIVE
About 4 nm southwest of la Ràpita, four bright yellow buoys delimit a mussel. A little more inland, there is a fish farm, currently out of use, also indicated by bright yellow buoys. In the direction of la Ràpita, immediately accesses the concrete access to the port of the Cemex cement at the port of Les Cases d’Alcanar. Every week, an average of three boats loaded and left for a few days on the road. About 2 nm southwest of la Ràpita starts the concrete path that leads to the lagoon of the Alfacs port and the port. Mark a 6-meter deep channel. Beyond the row of buoys, the water is deep enough for the sport boats.
However, it is necessary to stay far enough from the shore of the coastal cord, especially in the vicinity of the western tip, that of the Horn (nautical charts are also called Galatxo tip or Corballera tip), because there are sudden variations of depth
If you come from Levante, you will pass through a far fl (2) 12s located on the southern side of the delta.
At the outer pier of the harbor there is a brown building impossible to overlook. With the exception of the outer breakwater, all port areas have independent lighting, such as in the case of entrance to the CDM Navy. The depth is almost always 4 to 3 m.
EXCURSIONS
One of the most popular excursions is the Route of the mussels. Departure from the port at 12:00 a.m. at weekends and every day in high season.
In the afternoon, it is worth visiting the center of la Ràpita. Do not miss the panoramic view of the delta from the statue that dominates the town, on Carrer de la Guardiola. Starting at 4 pm, go to the port to visit the Lonja, the largest in Catalonia. The year 2015 invoiced 14 million euros; There were 31 million tonnes of fish circulated. It is also essential to contemplate the return to the port of some 40 fisheries, the download and the sale in the fish market of the finished products. The sale to individuals is not authorized.
Port of the Alfacs
The first anchorage to reach the bay of the Alfacs port in the direction of the port of la Ràpita. Located about half mile northeast of Punta Corballera, the western end of the sand hook that surrounds the bay. The depth of the water to anchor it is 4 to 2 m; There are some steep points where the water is unclear, but they cost to see with the naked eye.
You need to be very attentive to the ecometer and maneuver slowly. Access to the coastal coastal area is prohibited, to preserve the environment. However, it can be reached with a boat in the shallow waters and soak up to the knees surrounded by fish.
There are other anchors available throughout the lagoon, depending on the direction of the wind. It can also be anchored in the northern part, near the oyster nurseries and musclers, where there is also the Musclarium. The depth of the water is 3 m; Access to the shore with boat. In these areas of seafood, you can eat and drink.
With the east, it is better to skirt the long and narrow beach of Trabucador, to the northwest of the ruins of the loading bay of the salt mines of the Trinidad. Here we must also be aware of the variations, sometimes sudden, of the depth of the water.
Trick: pull the anchor more than 3 m deep; then the lemon will hold the hook well. If light comes to the depths, the algae push and the anchor does not fit well.
